EvaPig

Who are we?

EvaPig® was created, designed and developed by Jean Noblet (INRA, UMR SENAH), Alain Valancogne (INRA, UMR SENAH), Gilles Tran (AFZ) and Ajinomoto Animal Nutrition Europe.

The contribution of "Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique" (INRA; French National Institute for Agricultural Research) to EvaPig® originates from researchers positioned at the Unit named "Systèmes d’Elevage, Nutrition Animale et Humaine (SENAH; Livestock Production Systems, Animal and Human Nutrition). The SENAH Unit is conducting research programs on both livestock production and human nutrition. The most frequently used animal model is the pig but programs are also conducted on veal calves, broilers, turkeys or rabbits; mini pigs are also used for human nutrition studies. The SENAH Unit has also produced the InraPorc software®.

Its mission is to help with the dissemination and application of knowledge related to farm animals, and to participate in the public debates concerning animal productions. It organises every year one or several conferences dedicated to current issues and operates the French Feed Database, a national information centre about feeds.
